Choose Better. Together.

Choose Better. Together.

What difference can one choice make? Well, it can actually be a whole lot more than one can imagine. Our choices have the power to impact not only ourselves but nature too.

There's a growing unpopularity among people these days of fast fashion, plastics, waste, and other nonbiodegradable materials. Increasing public awareness of climate change and environmental issues has made the sustainability movement more popular than ever. Consequently, there’s been a significant transformation in consumption and buying patterns as well.

GenZ and Millennials are more thoughtful about climate change and environmental issues which encourages brands to make better choices. They are more aware of the impact that a hang tag using the word “sustainable” can have.

Increasingly concerned about sustainability, consumers today are scrutinizing their food consumption, the travel choices they make, and the chemicals they consume. Thanks to this thoughtfulness, they are also shifting their purchasing decisions to create a cleaner environment through the clothes they wear.

Climate Change and Social Injustice

Extreme climate conditions, health effects, loss of food, water, and livelihood security are some of the social impacts faced by communities around the world. Forced displacement, cultural identity loss, and other risks associated with climate change pose disproportionate challenges for millions of vulnerable people. People who are more susceptible to climate change are typically older people, tenants, and those with low incomes. Opting for mindful practices is a significant step forward in turning things around. A sense of social responsibility and the purchasing power of consumers are compelling factors driving the transition to eco-friendly alternatives.

More On Our Sustainable Agenda

i.e. 40 million tons of the clothing made each year ends up in landfills or incinerators, where they smolder and pollute the air. However, the amount of clothing that is recycled is only 1% of all clothing that is discarded.

FWD plans to have

of its assortment be made using a portion of recycled materials in 2023. By the end of 2024, the goal is to increase it to 80% in all categories.
